Affinity
Generate dynamic attraction rules between scatter-layers
Ecosystem Affinity
If you'd like your scatter-system to be dynamically attracted by other scatter-system(s), that's where the "Affinity" feature comes in handy. Choose your system affinity, a max range & transition distance, then define the influence on scale or density of your wish to create the distribution rule.
Contact Method
By default, the proximity contact will be your scattered point's origin. If you'd like a more precise collision distance field, it is possible to change the collision surface to 'Convex-hull' or use the realized instances meshes, however, this is not recommended as it might be too performance intensive.
Limit Collision Option
A limit collision slider is available to limit spawn distance near your affinity object.
Repulsion
Avoid nearby proximity in-between scatter-layers
Ecosystem Repulsion
If you'd like your scatter-system to be dynamically repulsed by other scatter-system(s), that's where the "Repulsion" feature comes in handy. Choose your repulsive system(s), a max range & transition distance, then define the influence on the scale or density you wish to create such distribution rules.
Contact Method
Just like the affinity feature, by default, the proximity contact will be your scattered point's origin. If you'd like a more precise collision distance field, it is possible to change the collision surface to 'Convex-hull' or use the realized instances meshes, however, this is not recommended as it might be too performance intensive.
Density
Scatter your instances only on dense or sparse areas
Ecosystem Density
If you'd like your scatter-system to be spawn dynamically only in areas where other scatter are dense/scarse, choose the ecosystem density feature. In order to work, you will need to choose up to 3 systems upon where we will analyse their instances per square area density.
Sampled Area
For this f²ature to work perfectly, you will need to evaluate the correct sample area size upon a number of instances that will be counted to count the density value.
Ecosystem & Biomes
Biomes are often using the ecosystem feature!
Ecosystems & Biomes
Like most features, all ecosystem settings can be exported within a .biome format. Make sure that there are no dependencies issues, by selecting every layer and their dependencies when doing the biome export!
